Leeluu and Apollo

Apollo is a sales engagement platform with a contact database. It finds prospects, enriches them with company data, and sends sequences at volume. Leeluu is a done-for-you service that produces personalized content for a named list, built from the seller's own expertise rather than from the prospect's company record. They solve different problems and many teams use both.

What Apollo does

Apollo is a strong product and most sales teams should have something like it. It gives you a large contact database, verified email addresses, company firmographics and technographics, sequencing, dialing, and reporting in one place. If the job is to reach a lot of people efficiently, that is what it is built for.

What Leeluu does

Leeluu is not a database and not a sending tool. It takes a company's real expertise, extracted from interviews with the people who hold it, and turns it into content written for one specific individual at a time. What each contact receives depends on the campaign: cold emails, email sequences, follow-ups, LinkedIn messages, a page built for that one person, video.

The output is delivered as a file that imports into whatever the team already uses, including Apollo.

The architectural difference

This is the part worth understanding, because it is not a feature comparison.

Apollo personalizes from the prospect's side. It knows the person's company, headcount, tech stack, funding round and recent job changes, and it uses that data to tailor a message. The substance of the message still comes from a language model.

Leeluu personalizes from the seller's side. The argument in the message comes from what the seller's own experts actually said, then it is matched to what is true about the individual receiving it.

A simple test. Take a hundred emails a team has sent through any sequencing tool and swap the company name for a competitor's. If most of them still make sense, the personalization was in the wrapper and the argument underneath was interchangeable.

Where each one sits

Everyone personalizes.
The difference is what they personalize from.

Every tool on this chart claims personalization. Only one of them starts with your expertise instead of your prospect's company record.

A positioning chart comparing Leeluu, Clay, Apollo and ZoomInfo on two axes: where the message content originates, and whether the recipient is treated as a company record or as an individual person.

Relative positioning based on hands-on testing of each tool, August 2026.*

Everyone here personalizes. The difference is what they personalize from.
